Venezian Glass Candle Holder - Design No. 1 - Amber These candlesticks from the Day range by Birger and Mikkelsen Home come in two different variations, each a different height and design but made from the same soft brown coloured glass. They have called the range Venezian and they certainly owe something to the longstanding tradition of glass craftsmanship that has taken place in Venice and the surrounding islands and which continues to this day. Day Birger and Mikkelsen is a Danish fashion brand that was founded in 1997 and branched out into homewares to expand the range that they designed and produced. This version of the candlestick is the larger of the two and the shape is more complicated than the shorter one. They look great in isolation but also in a pair of the same kind or a mix of both styles. The colour is called amber by the brand but is actually I think more of a brown colour than the orange tone that I associate with amber. It is shown in the main photograph of this listing with a plum dinner candle by Grand Illusions which is almost the same colour as the glass. The other candlestick version can be found here. Takes a standard size diameter dinner candle. Both candle designs are also available in two other colours: soft pink and green. Comes in a branded kraft brown box.
