Taking their name, Kappa, from the bubble of glass that rises up over the edge of the glass during the production process, Mimmi Blomqvist's mouth-blown crystal vases show a clear respect for the history of production in craft glass and its current contribution to contemporary design. Produced at the Swedish Kosta Boda glassworks, Blomqvist skilfully transforms the glass into beautiful, pieces of modern art glass. The mouth-blown process used to create her work contributes to the individuality of the finished vases which display unique variations in shape and in the small bubbles that form during the process.
