Made of laminated birch plywood, this lightweight tray features the Unikko pattern. It is recommended to clean the tray with a damp cloth or hand wash. Do not soak. Compatible with the oak tray stand. This product celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Unikko pattern and features the anniversary stamp on the bottom. Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international design icon for Marimekko. Marimekko's founder, Armi Ratia, believed that the true essence of real flowers could not be faithfully captured in print, which is why floral prints had previously been excluded from Marimekko collections. So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendering. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, perfectly integrated into Marimekko's design identity.
