Product Details

A Year in the Kitchen - Blanche Vaughan The pages of House & Garden are probably not everyone's first port of call for inspiring reliable recipes but that is exactly what the food pages of that magazine publish every month. Sometimes there are guest cooks and chefs, such as Jeremy Lee, that take on the job of penning the food section but it is usually Blanche Vaughan who writes the seasonal recipes. This book is a collection of those recipes, both Vaughan's and a selection from her peers; Stevie Parle, Sally Clarke, Amy Poon and others. A Year in the Kitchen is arranged by season. We start with spring and end in winter. In each season Vaughan highlights particular ingredients, and the recipes follow those leads. In spring we have recipes around leeks, eggs and rhubarb, followed by courgettes and chicken in summer, beetroot in autumn and chocolate in winter. There are also sections for cakes, biscuits and bread as well as Christmas recipes. At the end of each season Vaughan also gives suggestions for menus for that particular season. The book is filled with photographs in the House & Garden style; relaxed linens, beautiful tableware and inspiring interiors. Hardback. 304 pages. Measurements: 20.1cm x 26.7cm x 3.2cm
