A basket not quite like the others ... No, for us it is a work of art, a real crush! First, because the technique and the quality of the braiding is quite incredible. But above all because it is absolutely poetic and makes us think of a real little bird's nest! This medium-sized vetiver root basket is entirely hand-woven in Madagascar by Tahiana Création. Marie Alexandrine has created her basketry workshop on the outskirts of Antananarivo and works with around thirty women who master the art of weaving to perfection. Today it has its own plantations. She cultivates nearly 60 Ha of vetiver and can be happy to have developed a completely autonomous cooperative. Besides the aesthetic pleasure, this basket is a real olfactory pleasure because the dried vetiver root retains its smell, and also its properties since it is a natural insecticide. You can occasionally moisten the basket lightly to revive or intensify the smell of vetiver. We do not recommend food use. Indeed, the smell of vetiver could spoil your food. On the other hand, it will be perfect as an empty pocket in your hallway, a small bathroom basket to put your make-up or your products, in your room to store your jewelry. You can also use it on your desk to put your little mess, your scotch rolls, your paper clips ... It can also be a decorative element in its own right. For example, we love to hang it on the wall, alone or with its big sister or other decorative elements such as photo frames.
